What's the difference between collagen peptides and gelatin?Updated 22 days ago
Hydrolysed collagen and gelatin are different. Both come from collagen and are made up of amino acids, but they look and behave very differently. Collagen peptides are smaller molecules, produced through a natural enzymatic hydrolysis process, and they're absorbed by the body more quickly (around 90% of peptides are absorbed within a few hours of taking them).
Gelatin has a longer molecular structure than collagen peptides, so it's not as soluble or as easily absorbed by the body.
Gelatin also has a thicker, jelly-like structure.
